Patient of the Month: Suzanne Metro

Our January patient of the month is Suzanne Metro!

Suzanne is a marketing manager, mom of two grown children, and proud dog owner. She loves to get out and about with her active two-year-old chocolate lab, Beaufort.

Unfortunately, Suzanne started struggling with hip pain. Her hip bothered her for several months, and after a day of being on her feet for many hours, she ended up in the ER due to severe pain. She was referred to an orthopedic group for follow-up care, where she had a less than desirable experience – Suzanne felt she wasn’t listened to, and didn’t receive the support or treatment she needed to take care of her hip pain. She was severely disappointed, and continued to live with significant pain for a couple of weeks, until an internet search led her to booking an appointment at Genesis.

She was able to get in quickly to see Dr. Strotman at Genesis. There, she felt heard and cared for; Dr. Strotman explained her options clearly, and she felt confident in booking a follow-up appointment to get a recommended cortisone injection. She went back for the shot the following week, and was relieved that it was quick, painless, and delivered fast relief for her hip pain.

Suzanne was continually impressed with how quickly she was in and out for her appointments at Genesis; she remarked, “Whoever does their scheduling does a great job!” She is also grateful to the folks at Genesis for their “excellent” care; in her words, “They gave me my life back.” Before her cortisone injection, she was only able to walk her dog for 20 or so minutes before needing a break, and she also had pain when sitting for work and even from sleeping. Now, she is able to easily engage in daily activities, including hiking with her dog for an hour or more.

When asked if she would recommend Genesis to friends or family members, Suzanne said, “Yes, I would definitely recommend them – the care is excellent, they do a great job with getting you in, you’re seen quickly, they take care of you, and they fix you up.”
