Monali Adhikari, OTD

Monali Adhikari is a licensed Occupational Therapist in Illinois with a diverse clinical background spanning multiple healthcare settings. She earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Marquette University in 2023, building upon her foundation in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Her current roles include positions at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab’s Day Rehab Center and Paxxon Healthcare Services, where she works with patients facing various neurological and orthopedic conditions. At Shirley Ryan, she provides both individual and group therapy sessions, while at Paxxon she focuses on Medicare Part B outpatient therapy and home health services for assisted living residents.

Throughout her clinical rotations, Monali gained extensive experience across different healthcare environments, including home health care, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and community-based settings. Her experience encompasses working with diverse patient populations, from pediatrics to adults, and treating conditions ranging from neurological disorders to orthopedic injuries.

A notable aspect of her professional development includes her doctoral capstone project at the Racine County Juvenile Detention Center, where she developed and implemented a community reintegration program for incarcerated adolescents. This project demonstrated her ability to create and execute comprehensive therapeutic programs focused on life skills and community readiness.

Monali brings additional value through her multilingual capabilities, being highly proficient in Bengali and conversational in Hindi, alongside English. She maintains active professional certification through NBCOT and membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association, while also being experienced with healthcare software systems like Cerner and WeDoc.
