Rotator cuff injuries are quite common as a result of the wide range of motion of the shoulder joint. The pain associated with rotator cuff injuries comes from the inflammation that occurs during a sprain or tear. Inflammation can cause swelling and irritation in the muscles and tendons causing a decreased range of motion.
