The TFCC consists of multiple components that comprise the ulnar side of the wrist located between the ulna and the two carpal bones. The TFCC permits complex movements of the wrist including stabilizing the ulno-carpal and distal radio-ulnar joints <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smile24h.com\/dental-implants-treatment-duration\/\">Smile24H<\/a>. Around 80 percent of the TFCC is avascular meaning that it is not associated with or supplied by blood vessels. As a result, when injury occurs healing is limited in this area. Injury to the TFCC includes tears to the articular disc and the meniscus homologue. The homologue is the fibrous piece of tissue that connects the articular disc to the triquetrum bone in the wrist. Injury is typically the result of excessive force on the palm down position and abnormalities or degenerative changes in the anatomy of the wrist. Athletes, such as gymnasts, that put excessive force on their wrists and individuals that experience a forceful fall are at a higher likelihood of developing an injury of the TFCC. Symptoms include pain on the ulnar side of the wrist, clicking, snapping, weakness and swelling.\n\nIf you think you have an injury to the TFCC, getting a correct diagnosis is important. Tambi\u00e9n se le puede indicar terapia antiinflamatoria y f\u00edsica para ayudar en el proceso de curaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p><b>Cortisona<\/b><\/p><p>Un M\u00e9dico de Genesis Orthopaedics &amp; Sports Medicine le puede administrar una inyecci\u00f3n de cortisona para reducir el dolor o la inflamaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1rea afectada. La lesi\u00f3n del CFCT puede ser de car\u00e1cter debilitante. Mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de una inyecci\u00f3n de cortisona, la persona afectada puede retomar sus actividades diarias m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido y con menos dolor.<\/p><p><b>Cirug\u00eda<\/b><\/p><p>Dependiendo de la naturaleza de la lesi\u00f3n, se puede indicar una intervenci\u00f3n quir\u00fargica como la mejor forma de tratamiento. Cuando la mu\u00f1eca se vuelve inestable como resultado de una fractura, rotura o desgarro completo del ligamento, es posible que se requiera la cirug\u00eda como tratamiento. El desbridamiento del \u00e1rea tambi\u00e9n se puede usar si ocurre un desgarro en el centro del CFCT donde existe poca capacidad de curaci\u00f3n y hay un suministro sangu\u00edneo limitado.
