There is the collar bone (clavicle), shoulder blade (scapula), and the upper arm bone (humerus). Two main joints are the shoulder joint and the AC joint. Often times, rotator cuff tears are partial tears, where a part of your tendon(s) tears or detaches from the upper arm bone (humerus). Doing a job where you move your arm above your head repetitively is a common cause of this injury. Painters, carpenters, swimmers and baseball pitchers are all at risk for repetitive stress injuries. Falling or lifting something heavy can cause sudden rotator cuff tears. These injuries make it hard to do the daily activities you love and need to do. What does a rotator cuff tear feel like? Pain is the most obvious symptom. W<\/span>ho is a good candidate for rotator cuff repair? <\/span>According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 80 percent of patients may find success with nonsurgical treatment in resolving pain and lack of movement.
